"Calling Daddy Anarchist" is Dr. Paul's (Lexington, KY) 13th release and may be our favorite yet? It's his first release recorded digitally and the change lends itself well to Dr. Paul's unique style of bedroom pop. The songs feel soft and melodic, chill but serious, gliding from one track to the next. This album is a must for fans of home-brewed bedroom pop gold.
Calling Daddy Anarchist
Recorded mostly on a TASCAM DP-01 8 track, it’s my first digital record. These old digital portastudios kind of have their own freaky lo-fi quality though. The last release to come out of my old dank (literally) basement studio, the Lower Funk (RIP). Loose theme being growing up, in the sense that everyone is changing around you, without you. Drug addiction, marriage, suicide, sociopathic personalities, disappointing loved ones, broken hearts, fragile minds, late night radio, and booze. It’s a good time though. I have a few laughs in there. It’s my 13th release! 9th or 10th full length, I think, I’m losing track now…
The next record will be political. Aye!
